Inspired by the captivating impact of storytelling through film and television during her teenage years while living in her home country – St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Indira Layne is now a Toronto-based Actor.
Having trained under the tutelage of some of Toronto's finest acting schools with professionals at The Lighthouse Acting Studios Toronto, Armstrong Acting Studio and LB Acting Studio, Layne is a firm believer in continuous training; constantly seeks out new opportunities to hone her craft. Layne has a few commercials, Television series and short films under her belt. She most recently appeared in the short film “Taboo” directed by Nesa Huda.
Layne began her foray into writing, in 2020 with her first short “1000 pieces” premiering at the Hairouna Film Festival in 2021. In 2022, Layne launched Look At Us Productions with writing partner Fallon Bowman. Their first short film “The Cold Ride” which was co-written and co-produced by Layne is set to be released in the Summer of 2024.
When she’s not immersed in the world of acting, Layne enjoys the restorative benefits of yoga, she enjoys hiking and the outdoors, and learning new hobbies. She shares a deep connection to all things Caribbean – culture, travel, history. Having made her mark, she looks forward to continued growth in the industry, and working on new projects in the upcoming year.
